Plovers Lasso Gators

GAINSVILLE, FL (Reuters): The North Central South Dakota Polytechnic Institute (Norcentral) Freaking Plovers motored to a 42-7 victory over the University of Florida Gators Saturday night before 88,548 fans at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Senior quarterback J. P. Richardson was the star of the game completing 9 of 14 passes for 237 yards and 5 TDs. Running back Kyle McDonald ground out 184 yards on 24 carries with 1 touchdown.

McDonald came off the field briefly during the third quarter with an apparent head injury. During his absence two Plover drives were squelched by failed fourth down conversions.

Plover Magic?

Freaking Plover Head Football Coach and Chancellor (for life), Gomer S. Blake, cut short his post-game press conference. “Sorry boys, I’m heading over to Brett’s house for a kegler. Let’s win!”, he bellowed.

Next week the Plovers take the week off, resuming play at LSU on October 20.

Plovers Fry Razorbacks

MOBRIDGE, SD (AP): The North Central South Dakota Polytechnic Institute (Norcentral) Freaking Plovers rocked and rolled to a 49-7 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday night before 49,999 fans at John Reid Field at Cold War Memorial Stadium.

Senior running back Kyle McDonald led the charge with 233 yards on 22 carries with 3 touchdowns. Quarterback J. P. Richardson completed 9 of 14 passes for 287 yards and 4 more TDs.

Tight End Jameel Welsh is out for the season

For the Plover defense, it was business as usual. The Plovers held the Razorbacks to 202 total yards with a stingy -5 yards on the ground. Their sole blemish was getting burned on a 63-yard Razorback touchdown strike in the second quarter.

There were two turnovers in the game with the Plovers and Razorbacks exchanging interceptions. Richardson tossed an interception in the end zone to kill a chance for the Plovers to score at the close of the third quarter.

Plover Head Football Coach and Chancellor (for life), Gomer S. Blake, was unusually calm at his post-game press conference. “I love the way our defense played tonight, like gang bangers. Let’s win! I will have some serial discussions with J. P. about that pick. It cost us points, precocious points. We can’t be leaving precocious points on the field. Let’s win!”

Senior tight end Jameel Welsh left the game in the second quarter with a strained back. The 6’-5”, 240-pound senior from Coral Gables, Fl. is out for the season.

Next week the Plovers take the show on the road to for an afternoon game with the Florida Gators.
