Plovers to host Open House

North Central South Dakota Polytechnic Institute (Norcentral) is opening its doors for a rare look inside its program on May 5.

The Plover Plane

The Freaking Plovers are hosting the Blake Center dedication and open house from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. to cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Blake Center and give fans an opportunity to take a tour through the facility.

The Blake Center dedication will begin at 10 a.m. and the ribbon cutting will occur at 10:30 a.m. At that point, the $136 million facility, which was completed in March, will be open to fans.

Among the areas included on the tour are Head Football Coach and Chancellor (for life) Gomer S. Blake’s office, the players’ lounge, locker room, weight room, massage parlor and practice field.

Fans can also take pictures on John Reid Field with the Plover Plane. Other areas of the Cold War Memorial Stadium will also be open to fans including the press box.

Lynette “Squeaky” McClean will be autographing balls

Tickets are free, but are required. They must be obtained on the website. Tickets are available in one-hour increments. Parking is free and fans can enter through Gate 97 or Gate 1204.

Food will be available for purchase and people who attend the open house will get a coupon for $5 off the 2 p.m. Plover baseball game against the Mobridge American Legion Post 4.

While there will be no coaches or players at the event, members of the Plover Professional Co-eds will be there to autograph balls.
